Castles

Castles are the silent witnesses of a bygone age. They tell exciting stories from the past and at the same time offer a haven of peace and a counterpoint to the hectic pace of modern life in big cities. That is also true of Wolfsburg Castle, name giver and symbol of the young city, with its beautifully landscaped castle park, not to mention Fallersleben Castle from the 16th century and Neuhaus moated castle.

Schloss Wolfsburg, erected 700 years ago, is one of the most famous architectural monuments exemplifying the North German Renaissance. The City Museum, the Municipal Gallery, the Art Association and the Heidersberger Institute now present Wolfsburg’s history, modern art and photography there.
