Studying in Wolfsburg

If you want to study automotive engineering, economics or healthcare, or perhaps you would prefer to become active in the circular economy in the mobility sector or in software engineering, then the young, modern city of Wolfsburg is the place for you.

Wolfsburg is part of the Braunschweig-Salzgitter-Wolfsburg axis of independent cities and is located on the Mittelland Canal. With a population of around 128,000, Wolfsburg is one of the smaller student towns. Just under 3,000 students are enrolled on 25 degree courses here. The Wolfsburg site has been part of the Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences since 1988 and the 42Wolfsburg program school has complemented the upscale educational landscape since 2020. The Open Hybrid Lab Factory research campus - a branch of the TU Braunschweig - and the Wolfsburg Clinic - a clinical training location of the medical faculty of the University of Göttingen since 2022 - are also part of the offer. Wolfsburg also offers a surprisingly wide range of leisure activities for every taste. See for yourself the wide range of things Wolfsburg has to offer.

Nature experiences

If you are looking for peace and balance in nature, you are in good hands in Wolfsburg's central city forest. Not far from the city center, there are numerous opportunities for walking, hiking, cycling or jogging on around 950 hectares. A special feature are the numerous fountains and (drinking water) springs, which provide refreshment along the route and can be discovered on a fountain and spring hike. The Hasselbach Valley, part of the city forest, also offers an impressive backdrop, where the “Three Stones” sandstone formation, which is around 170 million years old, can be discovered. But it is not only the city forest and the Allerpark that make Wolfsburg one of the greenest cities in Germany: in and around Wolfsburg, many other green spaces and nature reserves invite you to experience nature and forget everyday life.
