A GREAT RELEASE FOR DOGS

7,000 square metres just for man's best friend: Dogs have an area in the south-eastern part of the Allerpark where they can really let off steam. Whether it's fetching sticks, playing frisbee or something similar, here you as the owner can give your dog the opportunity to get some good exercise. Of course, always with mutual consideration with the other park visitors.

The free-running area for four-legged friends is the size of a football pitch and serves as a pilot project.

Background of the project: More and more Wolfsburg residents wanted an area in the Allerpark where their dogs could let off steam. This is because dogs are not allowed on the beach, on the sunbathing lawns or in the water. And in the other areas of the Allerpark, owners must keep their dogs on a lead.

The dog run is intended to fulfil the wishes of Wolfsburg residents. However, the animals are not allowed to run around unsupervised or soil the park. There are six bag dispensers throughout the Allerpark, which are regularly stocked.

The city emphasises that if many people complain and the dog walking service does not work as desired, the service can be discontinued.
